When the economy glided down, the government made a lot of tax cuts and the consequence is that schools need to tighten their belts and have to make do with minimal budget. Crippled by budget cuts and lack of funding, these schools face a big problem, shortage of school supplies. This shortage will also affect the quality of education of the children. Children find it hard to understand or comprehend a lesson when they lack the necessary tools for the discussion, this is why the get discourage to go to school or participate in class activities. Most of the time, teachers disburse their own money to fund the materials needed by the students. Luckily, there are cheaper options like buying used teaching supplies.

Make sure to check the bulletin boards of teachers lounge as stores usually advertise discounts and offers for their products. Teachers would often bring items to sell to these discount stores, and one could bring excess stuff from the inventory and sell them and buy items that the school sorely needs. This process is like a trade-off or barter trade.

Educating our children is the silver bullet that can beat ignorance, incompetence and poverty. It is crucial that children would be interested and willing to experience the joys of learning.
